About

Launched on 9th August 2013, Just Enrichment is the brainchild of Jolyn Ang (LLB '14) who went to the States for exchange and was inspired by the outline banks established in the law school she attended. The concept of sharing notes is not a foreign one. For many years, NUS Law School had an informal tradition (admittedly this is slightly oxymoronic) of seniors passing on muggers i.e. notes and outlines to juniors. However, due to the lack of a platform accessible to everyone, sharing was frequently limited to sharing between friends or within closed groups. An outline bank was, very simply, the next logical step.

She posted her idea on Facebook and was soon overwhelmed by mugger contributions and offers to help make the idea reality. This website would not have been possible without the technical expertise and hard work of Mervyn Lau (GLB '14) and team, as well as the muggers contributors.

As opposed to the legal doctrine of unjust enrichment where one party is unjustly enriched at the expense of another, this database would hopefully aid in the enrichment of everyone, to everyone's benefit. The concept of justice also invites some reflection. Justice is an expression of wisdom, which builds community, and is seen in right relationships. Seeking justice means seeking wisdom, seeking community, and seeking right relationships.

If you have benefitted from this project, pay it forward and contribute. No, you don't have to be a Dean's Lister to contribute. This is NUS Law School, our Law School, and if this is going to continue to be a place where justice-seeking lawyers are trained and nurtured, we all have a part to play.

Disclaimer: All contributors of muggers are not responsible for any inaccuracies or discrepancies. Students are highly discouraged from depending on muggers. They are only supposed to provide some guidance if the raw material is too overwhelming to digest on its own. Remember that the key to success is still hard work and perseverance.
